Here are the most common things to look for that could fail your pool

Most common failures I’ve added this blog so you can be aware of what to think about

ü  Foliage grows and sometimes it is prized foliage – sorry

ü  Rust and grime build-up stops doors or gates swinging shut, latches working etc.

ü  Structural units fail – latches and hinges rust out and wear out especially outdoors.

ü  Things break and are not fixed – fence joins break or wooden palings pop

ü  Ivy and climbers.  They look great but at some stage they can become strong enough that they provide climbing grips

ü  Agapanthus (or similar) look good on the outside of a fence but as they get bigger and bigger they clump down and reduce the 1.2m height clearance of the pool fence – out they come

ü  Alarms disabled – or batteries flat

ü  Self-closers that stop self-closing.  They need regular servicing.

ü  Right at the bottom of this list - faults not found in previous inspections (not by us).  I don’t know why they were missed but it happens often.

Stay open to the problem as it’s not a criticism of your pool or you – it’s just the process.  Usually, the solution just needs a bit of thinking and work and are readily solvable.  We can advise.
